Rome Denario NecklaceThe personification of the city, her cult was instituted during the Empire and she was celebrated on the 21st of April, the founding date of the city. She was usually represented as a young woman with a helmet and often with a cornucopia full of gifts. A relief of a wolf was sculpted on each side of her helmet, as well as a cherub, symbolizing the legend of the founding of the city by Romulus (on the Palatine) in 753 B. C. The legend holds that
