The Rookery at Noxubee Wildlife RefugePicture over 30,000 birds each year returning to a small island of cypress trees to breed and raise their young. This breeding place called a rookery is located in the north end of Bluff Lake at Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge, located in central Mississippi.
